How To Uninstall RocketCyber Agent

This article will describe the various uninstall methods and their benefits.

Uninstall One Agent

To remove the RocketCyber Agent from a single system navigate to the device details for the specific device in the RocketCyber console.

This procedure requires the device to be online in the RocketCyber console, or be expected to return to an online status.

1.    Click on the Gear Icon to display the Agent Action Menu on the right hand side.

 2.    From the Agent Action Menu click on Uninstall Agent

 3.    Done!

The RocketCyber console will send a message to the agent to uninstall itself from the device. If the device is offline -- such as a laptop in sleep mode or no connectivity -- the message will be queued. When the device resumes or reconnects the uninstall message will be received and executed. When the uninstall is completed the status indicator light will transition from Green to Yellow. You should also see a confirmation from the agent that the uninstall was started in the Log tab.

Uninstalling does not remove the device from the RocketCyber Console. The device record and its data will still be available for reporting and review until the device is deleted from the RocketCyber Console. To delete a device from the console, Click on the Gear Icon to Display the Agent Action Menu then select Delete Device.

Uninstall All Agents for a Customer

This procedure requires the devices to have an online status or the devices are expected to return to an online status.

 1.    In the top right corner of the console, Click on the Company Name.

 2.    Click on Customer Settings

 3.    On the Customer Settings view,

    1. Switch on Uninstall Agents,
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
    3. Click Save.

The RocketCyber console will send a message to all agents to uninstall itself from the devices in the customer account. If a device is offline such as a laptop in sleep mode or no connectivity, the message will be queued. When the device resumes or reconnects the uninstall message will be received and executed.

When the uninstall is completed the status indicator light will transition from Green to Yellow. You should also see a confirmation from the agent that the uninstall was started in the Log tab.

Uninstalling does not remove the devices from the RocketCyber Console. Command Line Uninstall - Windows

If you prefer to script or perform an uninstall from the command line the uninstaller program is located in Program Files\RocketAgent\uninstall.exe

If you execute uninstall.exe without any command line parameters it will display a normal graphical uninstaller interface that requires user interaction. To run a silent uninstall provide /S as a command line parameter. This will cause the uninstaller to not display its user interface and requires no user interaction. See the example below:

C:\Program Files\RocketAgent\uninstall.exe /S

Command Line Uninstall - macOS

If you prefer to script or perform an uninstall from the command line the uninstaller program is located in /usr/local/rocketcyber/mac-agent-updater

To uninstall, See the example below:

sudo /usr/local/rocketcyber/mac-agent-updater UNINSTALL "" "" ""

The command is case sensitive and must be entered eactly as shown.
